Carved in Eskişehir from genuine block meerschaum, Lion No. 36 is a single, unrepeatable meerschaum pipe.
The form is shaped around the lion motif, worked in relief from the solid block.
Genuine block meerschaum is carved, not moulded. Pressed meerschaum is made from offcuts bound together; this piece is cut from solid material, which is what allows undercut detail to survive.
