This meerschaum pipe was cut from a single block of genuine Turkish meerschaum and finished by hand in Eskişehir, Türkiye.
The carver has set the floral against ornamental detail, cut into the same block.
Genuine block meerschaum is carved, not moulded. Pressed meerschaum is made from offcuts bound together; this piece is cut from solid material, which is what allows undercut detail to survive.
This piece is documented in 11 unedited photographs so the carving, the grain and any natural marks in the stone can be judged before you enquire.
