Eagle No. 24 belongs to the atelier's animal work: one block, one carver, no two pieces alike.
The eagle is worked directly into the block, so the carving and the bowl are one piece of stone.
Meerschaum is porous and light for its size. With use it draws in tobacco oils and shifts gradually from white through yellow and amber, so a piece like this changes colour over years of ownership.
