This meerschaum pipe was cut from a single block of genuine Turkish meerschaum and finished by hand in Eskişehir, Türkiye.
The form is shaped around the basket-weave motif, worked in relief from the solid block.
Meerschaum is porous and light for its size. With use it draws in tobacco oils and shifts gradually from white through yellow and amber, so a piece like this changes colour over years of ownership.
This piece is documented in 7 unedited photographs so the carving, the grain and any natural marks in the stone can be judged before you enquire.
