This meerschaum cigarette holder was cut from a single block of genuine Turkish meerschaum and finished by hand in Eskişehir, Türkiye.
The bulldog is worked directly into the block, so the carving and the bowl are one piece of stone.
Block meerschaum is a hydrous magnesium silicate mined near Eskişehir. It is soft enough to take fine detail when freshly worked and hardens as it dries, which is why this kind of relief carving is possible at all.
